Apparently, my front lawn is a grass-type Pokemon hotspot. Also I finally got off my lazy ass and figured out how to get around the weird error messages I’ve been getting trying to download it from Google Play and finally got it on my phone (don’t worry, I’m aware of !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , hence why I’m getting it from Google Play direct - the problem seems to be just taking a while to find a good place where I can get a solid enough WiFi connection to finish the download).

I can’t tell if it’s the app or my phone, but the AR system has been trash for me. Pokemon never appear on horizontal surfaces and barely hold their place in the environment. What’s your experience?

I don’t play the game but my carriage house backs up to a water garden conservatory type thing and so many people have been cutting through my yard to try to get to the park.

My house is full of zubats normally. Getting normals today though.

That would drive me nuts. If it bothers you you can put up signs for no trespassing or just a simple string fence

A friend and I went Pokemon hunting yesterday. We were at the edge of someone’s yard, but didn’t enter it (no need too). Found out later that neighbor took a pic and put it on FB, commenting how we were too afraid to go on her yard and the teens weren’t.

Eh, if I can capture them from the street, I have no need to trample across any grass.

There's an update now that fixes a bunch of problems.

Fortunately the radius is big enough that you can generally reach anything from the street.

One neighborhood I go into has such small yards that I can reach any point from the street. It's a small neighborhood and every street has a corresponding alley for garage access. The neighborhood also has a ton of Pokemon. When I get there and get out of my car and open the app I'm immediately treated with 3-4 Pokemon.

My neighborhood is surrounded by a ten-foot stone wall and there are gates at each entrance. The security guards call the police whenever anyone jumps it and everyone has been arrested for trespassing so far. Hope Pokémon is worth it.

Wow. I won't even go into someone's yard, let alone hop a wall.

....technically...a wall generally means “keep out”...so.... Their fault.

Maybe it looks more inviting because it's covered in ivy?

That is very considerate and rational of you. Several neighbors have filed police reports for damaged cars and other property destruction related things so people who start out to play a game end up get arrested and are potentially facing severe fines and other penalties.
